Aotearoa NZ Anaesthesia ASM

Outshine has managed the annual Aotearoa Anaesthesia New Zealand Annual Scientific Meeting since 2017.  

The 2025 ASM was a collaboration between the New Zealand Society of Anaesthesia (NZSA), the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) NZ Committee.  Held over five days in Kirikiriroa, Hamilton the meeting organisation included multiple interactive workshops, plenary and concurrent sessions.  The ASM was recorded and available on-demand, post event. There were four social events including the meeting dinner, an absolute hightlight, held at Hobbiton Movie Set.

Our involvement

Outshine has managed the Aotearoa Anaesthesia NZ Annual Scientific Meeting since 2017.  During this time, the meeting has been held in Rotorua, Queenstown, Christchurch, Dunedin, Hamilton and twice in Auckland.  The ASM has a been an in-person, virtual and hybrid meeting over this tenure, with the 2021 event requiring a late change in venue, and then a switch to a virtual event due to ongoing COVID-19 gathering restrictions.

The main programme includes a mix of plenary and up to three concurrent sessions, AGMs, networking opportunities and an elaborate Gala Dinner.

There are multiple workshops that include working round-table formats, and more complex interactive offerings that require equipment for scanning, and facilitation of models. 

Ranging in size from 400-500 delegates consisting of specialists, trainees, nurses, anaesthetic technicians and healthcare industry representation.

The ASM is well supported by a range of 30-35 exhibition stands and healthcare industry representatives.
