Incorporated in February 2006 by the two Directors of the Company, Jo Kelk and Jill Schirnack, our philosophy is to ensure that we take extra care of our small client base, providing a high standard of personal service and outcomes.
With 20 years’ experience of conference management within the medical industry, Jo has worked with over 70 conference committees, and managed large event teams. With a further 15 years experience in executive assistant roles in the health service in New Zealand and the United Kingdom she has an extensive knowledge of the medical industry, medical terminology and understands the unique relationships that exist within our health services.
Jo’s particular strength is her ability to think strategically and logically. While she has an ability to focus on the bigger picture, the smaller details are always taken care of. Jo enjoys working with Organising Committees, and has formed many friendships over the years with convenors, industry representatives and delegates.
Jo also participated as a mentor in the Convention and Incentives New Zealand inaugural mentorship programme.
Jill has 25 years’ experience in the hospitality and catering industry. This spans all areas of event delivery: operational, co-ordination and sales/marketing, working in hotels and venues in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. She has specialist knowledge of food and beverage service, best possible venue options and accommodation management. Her understanding of the implementation and creation of sales and marketing plans and relationship building with the key investors in each conference ensure that her clients receive the best possible destination and venue advice.
Jill has been managing medical conferences for the past 15 years, and more recently has managed multiple events in Australia. Her calm and friendly manner, methodical approach and sense of humour ensure her clients’ feel constantly at ease.
Jill is a member of the Australian Professional Conference Organiser Association Inc.
Prior to joining Outshine, in her roles as a Personal Assistant and Executive Assistant, Joanna has had experience managing a wide range of events including company inductions, engagement programs, conferences and a variety of staff functions (across New Zealand and Australia). Joanna’s experience as a personal assistant to a number of senior managers and teams has resulted in a fantastic grounding in the multi-tasking skills required to manage conferences.
With marketing experience and a passion for writing, she is able to create, edit and polish a wide range of documentation, reports and presentations.
Joanna has a calm demeanour, great sense of humour and exceptional eye for detail. She is the first contact for our attending delegates, managing the multiple tasks involved in the registration and accommodation process.
